Dog owners are concerned about allergies and unhealthy dog treats, so my dog cookies don't contain any weird additives, animal products, or even peanut butter, which makes for a happy healthy pup!
Girdwood is a dog loving ski town and it was important to me that Mountain Mutt Dog Cookies are savory but use no animal products or crude proteins, no preservatives or other weird additives. My brother has a severe peanut allergy so I purposely avoided using peanut butter in my recipes as well.
Surrounded by mountains, a natural rain forest, glacier water, and an abundance of fresh air, Mountain Mutt treats are nature inspired goodness and definitely Girdwood dog approved!

On Saturday, July 25th, 2026, I packed up the Mountain Mutt booth and headed to the Friends of Pets annual Dog Jog outside in the Service High School parking lot. The weather completely cooperated, giving us a gorgeously sunny Alaska day that brought out an incredible crowd of passionate pet owners and local vendors. I loved seeing the massive variety of trail ready dogs from Labradors, Bulldogs, and French Bulldogs to Chihuahuas, Saint Bernards, Poodles, and fantastic mixed breed mutts. I was especially impressed by the dedication of the dogs and handlers who tackled the Dog Jog and the outdoor obstacle course. As people stopped by my booth to buy bags of my allergy conscious dog treats or pick up my popular stickers, quite a few people looked at my sign and asked why a dog cookie business supports both the Girdwood Food Pantry and Friends of Pets?
To answer that question, I always explain that I am not just a business owner; I am a member of the Girdwood community who loves to volunteer and give back. While I care for the health and well being of our four legged trail partners, I care just as much about the people who live here. Volunteering at the food pantry is important to me because a strong community means taking care of neighbors in need. Supporting the Dog Jog this year just like I did back in 2025 was an absolute joy, and I want to thank everyone who stopped by to buy from me or share a positive conversation. The weekend fun didn’t end there, either; the very next day, Sunday, July 26th, I set up under beautiful sunny skies for the Girdwood Sunday Market, and I deeply appreciate everyone who stopped by my booth in the town square to support my small business!
